HOW TO APPLY FOR THE RESIDENCE PASS-TALENT

If you are an expatriate who has met all the eligibility criteria for the RP-T, this is where you can learn how to start your application.

TalentCorp will only accept submissions from applicants. As such, we recommend that applicants read and understand the sections below to find out what documents are required, the fees involved and other necessary information in order to complete their applications successfully.

Confirm your eligibility for the RP-T and gather all the necessary information you’ll need to complete your application.
  • Eligibility Criteria For The RP-T

    To be considered for the RP-T, applicants have to first fulfill the following criteria:

    • Has worked in Malaysia for at least 3 years minimum.  
    • Holds a valid Employment Pass at the time of application.
    • Earns a basic monthly salary of RM15,000. 
    • Has a Malaysian income tax file number and has paid income tax for at least 2 years. 
    • Holds a PhD/Master's/Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in any discipline from a recognised university or a professional/competency certificate from a recognised professional institute.  
    • Possesses at least 5 years of total work experience. 

    * Please take note that TalentCorp accepts applications from applicants only. Submissions from agents are NOT entertained. 
    * This is the MINIMUM criteria required for the RP-T. The approval status of the application is however subject to the discretion of the RP-T Panel.

  • Documents Required
    1. Applications for the RP-T can only be done through online submission via the RP-T website.

    2. The following supporting documents are required during submission of application:
    2.1 RP-T - Main Applicant

    • A copy of applicant's passport, including all pages
    • Updated resume
    • Copies of academic certificates*
    • Passport-sized photo with blue background
    • Employment contract
    • Latest two (2) year's tax declaration slip (e-BE & EA Form)
    • Latest three (3) months' salary slip
    • No Objection Letter from current employer (must be in Bahasa Malaysia)
    • A copy of the local contact person's NRIC (MyKad), including the front and back
    • Testimonials
    • Other supporting documents, eg recommendations from Regulatory Agencies

    2.2 Dependants (if any) - spouse, children or legal-adopted children under 18 years of age.

    • A copy of dependent's passport, including all pages
    • Certified True Copy (CTC) of marriage/birth certificates by the embassy*
    • Passport-sized photo with blue background
    • Other supporting documents (if any)

    2.3 Social Visit Pass holder (SVP) – for parents, parents-in-law and common law spouse

    • A copy of the SVP's passport, including all pages
    • Certified True Copy (CTC)* of: 
    i. RP-T applicant's birth certificate (if SVP is the applicant's parent)  
    ii. Spouse's birth certificate (if SVP is the applicant's parent-in-law)  
    iii. Affidavit on the relationship status issued by the embassy (if SVP is the applicant's common law spouse)  
    • Passport-sized photo with blue background
    • Personal Bond Form (duly stamped by Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (Inland Revenue Board Of Malaysia)) 
    • Other supporting documents (if any) 

    2.4 Social Visit Pass holder (SVP) (if any) – for children over 18 years old
     

    • A copy of the SVP's passport, including all pages
    • Certified True Copy (CTC) of birth certificate
    • Statutory declaration issued by Commissioner of Oath and validated by the embassy*
    • Passport-sized photo with blue background
    • Personal Bond Form (duly stamped by Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (Inland Revenue Board Of Malaysia))
    • Other supporting documents (if any)
    Documents marked * must be in translated to English.

Start your application online by creating a RP-T account here.

Please note that the application is considered complete upon submission of the application with all required documents uploaded and successful payment of the application fee of RM300 per applicant. 
  • Online Submission
    Create Account
    Click on "Register" link in menu above and enter the required information. An activation email will be sent to the applicant's email address with instructions. Follow the instructions to activate the account. The applicant is now ready to apply.

    Apply Online
    The applicant is to read and fully understand the eligibility criteria prior to submission. It is recommended that the applicant includes all relevant information and supporting documents to avoid delays. Please provide current employment details, educational background and other personal information.

    UPLOAD DOCUMENTS
    The applicant is to upload all required documents for their application. Documents can be submitted in any of the following formats: JPG, JPEG and PDF.

    SUBMIT PAYMENT
    The applicant submit payment for the application fee through online payment via credit/debit cards (MasterCard and VISA)).

    Track Application
    The applicant can check their application status through the RP-T account. The applicant will be notified of their approval status via email within 14 working days.

Once your application has been reviewed and approved, a notification email will be sent out detailing what to do next in the endorsement process.
  • RP-T Endorsement
    Upon receiving the approval notification, the applicant may proceed to prepare payment by online payment or via bank draft as outlined in the Fee Payment section below.
  • Fee Payment
    The applicant is required to prepare the following payments by online payment or via bank draft.

    The following fees are applicable upon submission of passport(s) for the issuance of RP-T sticker are:
    • Processing Fee - per applicant  
    - RP-T applicant / Spouse (if any)
    - Dependents below 18 years of age (if any)
    - Other dependents (SVP)
    (*Payable to 'Malaysia Expatriate Services Centre Sdn Bhd' via online payment (acceptable credits cards: MasterCard and VISA).) 
    • Immigration Pass Fee - per applicant*  
    • Multiple Entry Visa Charges (if applicable).   

    * Immigration Pass Fee and Multiple Entry Visa Charges are payable to 'Ketua Pengarah Imigresen Malaysia' and can be made in one bank draft per applicant.

  • Passport Collection
    The applicant will be notified once the endorsement stage is completed, within 5  working days (subject to the Immigration Department's discretion). Upon receipt of notification, the applicant may proceed to collect their passport(s) at the MYXpats Centre.
