ENTRY PERMISSION FOR EXPATRIATES AS ANNOUNCED BY THE MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT ON 19TH JUNE 2020

1. This is in conjunction with the recent announcement made by the Government of Malaysia for expatriates to enter Malaysia without the need to apply for permission as outlined in the Guidelines during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

2. We are pleased to inform that the entry permission for expatriates as announced are for the following pass categories:

A. Employment Pass Category I (EP I) & Dependants
B. Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T) & Dependants
C. Professional Visit Pass (PVP)

3. Expatriates with Employment Pass Category II (EP II) and Employment Pass Category III (EP III) who are currently from the Green Zone countries listed below are allowed to enter Malaysia without the need to apply for entry permission from the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

4. Expatriates with Employment Pass Category II (EP II) and Employment Pass Category III (EP III) with dependants other than from the listed countries, are still subject to the entry approval from the Immigration Department of Malaysia. Please refer to the Guideline for the Entry of Expatriate

List of Green Zone Countries:

A. Australia
B. Brunei
C. New Zealand
D. Singapore

5. Expatriates for all categories including those holding the Professional Visit Pass (PVP) who are currently not as listed in the Green Zone countries above are subject to entry permission by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. PCR Covid-19 swab test and self-quarantine are compulsory.

6. Only dependants under Employment Pass Category I (EP I) not as listed in the Green Zone countries above are allowed to enter Malaysia, subject to entry permission by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. PCR Covid-19 swab test and self-quarantine are compulsory for these dependants.

7. Entry, as stated in paragraph (2), (3), (4), (5) & (6), must comply with the following criteria:

a) Must be tested negative for Covid-19 through the PCR Covid-19 test THREE (3) days before entering Malaysia. Swab test is compulsory, with exemption given to Japanese nationals.

b) To install and download “MySejahtera” App and complete the relevant details.

c) Self-quarantine for FOURTEEN (14) days (EXCEPT for EP I and RP-T from Green Zone countries, i.e. Australia, Brunei, New Zealand and Singapore).

d) Self-quarantine is not required for Professional Visit Pass (PVP) holders entering the country for emergency work. However, they are required to leave for their country of origin once the work has been completed.

e) Entry is only permitted for those currently holding a valid pass or an approved pass (EP I & DP, EP II & DP, EP III, RP-T & DP and PVP).

f) The list of Green Zone countries may change from time to time base on updates from the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The entry permission will be EFFECTIVE from 24th June 2020.
