We would like to remind all Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T) holders and applicants of the importance of tax compliance as part of the eligibility criteria. Staying up to date with your tax filings and payments helps to ensure a smooth application process while demonstrating your commitment to Malaysia’s laws and regulations. This reminder applies to both new applications and renewals for existing RP-T holders, emphasizing the need to maintain compliance throughout your RP-T tenure.

Steps to Ensure Tax Compliance:

1. Review Your Tax Status and Prepare Documents – Ensure all tax filings and payments are complete and current, with no outstanding taxes and submit paid income tax statements for the most recent two years at the time of application.
2. Meet the Annual Income Requirement – Ensure your declared annual basic salary meets the minimum requirement of RM180,000, which is the equivalent of RM15,000 per month. This amount refers to your basic salary and does not include bonuses, commissions, or other incentives. RP-T holders and applicants must demonstrate compliance with this minimum monthly basic salary to be eligible for the RP-T.
3. Resolve Outstanding Issues – Ensure your tax form aligns with your income tax filings. Promptly address any discrepancies or pending matters and provide justifications, including correspondence with LHDN (Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia).

Current RP-T holders are encouraged to ensure compliance with these requirements to maintain their status smoothly. Meeting these obligations helps secure the continued benefits and validity of your RP-T.
